IBQ Writing Prompt: What is Happiness?

Here is my entry for 61 Musing Introverts Blog Quietly Challenge.

This week’s prompt is:  What is Happiness?

See the bottom of this post for a quick bio on Donna.

Donna Eden introduced me to the Traditional Chinese Elements through her 5 Elements class. See the bottom of this post for a quick bio on Donna.

Chris and I have been talking a lot about happiness this past week.  But one conversation we had real stuck in my brain.  Chris asked if I knew of anyone who is happy.  I had to really think about that.  The one person I know of is Donna Eden.  I have been lucky enough to take energy medicine classes with her.  She is an extrovert and has a fiery personality to boot.  She just exudes happiness.  All you need do is look at her and you are instantly feeling happy and joyful.

Then I mentioned that most people would consider both Chris and I to be happy people.  Although we don’t exude happiness and sunshine like Donna does.  I think that is because we are introverts.  Our conversation expanded to other people we consider happy and content with life.  We could name several people we know.

So for us introverts I don’t know if our happiness is displayed as much as felt.  I know I’m in a state of contented bliss a lot. All I have to do is look at our 4-legged kids being cute and I can feel that warmth blissful feeling welling up inside.  Our when Chris and I start talking about the same thing at the same time, I get that same feeling.  That to me is happiness.  I get that feeling many times during any given day, too many times to count or even keep track off.  To me that is happiness.

Donna Eden for more than 35 years has been teaching people how to work with the body’s energy systems to reclaim their health and natural vitality.  She is among the world’s most sought, most joyous, and most authoritative spokespersons for Energy Medicine. Her abilities as a healer are legendary.

Qi (energy) hugs,

  1. That sweet dog is absolutely adorable. Is that one of your sweet babies?

  2. I agree that it is harder to spot a happy introvert than a happy extrovert because us introverts aren’t likely to do anything to garner attention to ourselves.

  3. Cee, I’m glad to hear that you are happy! As a happy person myself, I sometimes feel guilty when I see/ hear about so much unhappiness. But as you say, maybe we can exude happiness so others may feel happy too. I hope so! 🙂

  4. Cee as an extreme extrovert I would agree with you. I tend to be ‘exuding’ all over the place and an introvert may be just as happy as I just more private about it.

  5. I so agree: Introverts don’t tend to shout their happiness from the rooftops. We just enjoy it and try to share it in quiet ways. Wonderful, thought-provoking post!
