New Iris of the Day – May 9, 2014

Despite the wind, rain and cold another iris has bloomed.  It was so windy today that I actually held on to the iris stem with one hand and snapped the photo with my other hand.

  1. I’m going to try and photograph some irises today. Yours are beautiful. I have to tell you, I love your tips for photographers and have learned so much from you. Thank you for taking the time to write these posts! I’m very new to photography and have a few books, but I get a lot more from your posts. 🙂 I use aperture too and am hoping for a post on that someday! Thanks again!

    • Not really. In a couple of weeks we are going to have half our front yard landscaped with flowers, trees and shrubs. We want to eventually get totally rid of the grass except maybe for walking paths.

      • I agree, I love courtyard gardens with meandering pathways in grass or brick or gravel. Lawns are great when you have kids who need to run around, or have a big plot and someone to maintain it! I’d love to see some photos of your ‘yard’ (garden) before and after 🙂
