This little delicate white and blue iris opened up this morning. I shot this iris with two different cameras. This first photo, I used Chris’s Sony DSC-HX50V Point and Shoot camera.
This second photo I used my Nikon 1 V2 Mirrorless camera with my Nikkor 18.5mm f1.8 fixed lens (equal to 50mm in 35mm format).

I agree, Rusha. I’d love to see a shot of the garden, too, Cee. I can see why you’re drawn the the violet colors (from your other posts), but this indigo, white and yellow combo has a gently regal quality. I think the perspective and clarity of the second shot tells more about the flower, but the dark background on the first image is really striking. Keep ’em coming!

I can never get enough of Ms. Iris myself. Every spring, I see them first in the Valley, about an hour’s drive away. Then, a few weeks later, they bloom up here in the mountains. I had gorgeous purple irises decorating my wedding cake. They are so sensuous, they always remind me of Georgia O’Keeffe’s paintings…
