I’m in heaven this time of year because there are so many flowers in bloom right now. For Sunday Stills challenge this week his subject is One Subject, Just One. I’ve been trying to think of what to put for this particular challenge. Of course flowers, but that is too general in my mind. I adore my dahlias but they are way to easy to photograph. Now to capture the bearded iris in all is detail and glory, that is an art I’m still working on. Because it gives me a challenge. They aren’t easy to photograph. This is also my entry for Travel Theme’s challenge with the topic of bloom.

I’ve never seen the fields before …. at least not up close. They are visible from the freeway, but it is nothing compared to up close. They were slightly overwhelming and oh so fun.

I’m sure my issues with irises stem from childhood – helping Mom dig them up every fall. I was not amused!

Much of my problem was the smell. They’re not as bad as marigolds, but irises stink!
