Victory is Mine!

Here is my entry for  WordPress Weekly Photo Challenge with the topic of achievement.  I really don’t take photos in that really fit this theme….especially since I don’t take a lot of people photos.  What I did for this challenge is get some photos I’ve taken of Yaquina Head Lighthouse.  The lighthouse stands 93 feet (28 m) tall, and is the tallest lighthouse in Oregon.  You can actually walk up the stairs and get inside the Fresnel lens.  One of my biggest achievements after being so sick was to walk up these stairs about two years after I initially got sick.  It was a personal victory for me.

For those of you who have had the treat of visiting this lighthouse, I have also walked the steps down to the ocean too.

The lighthouse still uses its original 1868 French-made, 1st order, Fixed Fresnel lens, visible 19 miles (31 km) out to sea. In 1993, the lighthouse was listed in the National Register of Historic Places.

    1. The only photo Chris and I took that day was the light itself. IT was taken with one of the first digital cameras sony made. The other photographs I captured since we moved to Oregon over the past six years or so. Thanks Janet.

  1. Well done & congrats! I really appreciate your different perspectives and treatments on this images. It fits especially considering that achievements are so multidimensional themselves.

    🙂 Thanks for sharing. 🙂

  2. Love the photos. I actually never been near a lighthouse but i really like them. They are usually in a stunning scenery. Great achievement Cee. Probably many of us dont think this way we take it for granted that we are able to climb stairs, then something happens and puts things in a different perspective. Sorry for the long comment,,my thoughts have just flown 😉
