I really did have fun with this. I have lots of fences, but I wasn’t at all sure how they would look as monochrome. I guess you will be the judge. My favorite in your batch is the beach … I love the textures and contrast of both tones and texture between the fence, the man with binoculars, and the beach beyond. You inspire me!

I like the “please do not bother the tenants” sign on the fence in your top picture.
My initial tendency is to think of fences as only wooden. This was a good exercise for me to realize a few things.First, that I do not usually shoot wooden fences for some reason – so I will have to keep an eye out for that. And – realizing that i do tend to shoot a lot of metal fences, railings, gates – which I have always found interesting – though I have a great appreciation for old style wooden fences, too. Especially run down ones, broken pickets, or colonia-stylel barricades. Randy

I was surprised at how many wooden fences I have. They must be popular in my little town. I really like what you came up with for this week’s challenge.

A nice mix of fences. Mine is more subtle, but I think still fits. http://explorationvacation.net/2014/12/23/peeking-through-the-fence-in-mama-mexico/ Mostly I’m just pleased that I actually got organized enough to connect this week! Thanks for pulling this together and Happy Holidays!
