Share Your World – 2015 Week #2

70035-ice-creamAre you a hugger or a non-hugger?

What’s your favorite ice-cream flavor?

Do you prefer exercising your mind or your body? How frequently do you do either?

Are you more of a dog person or a cat person? Why?

Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?

I sincerely hope you enjoy my questions for this week and find the questions interesting enough to play along.   If you ever want me to ask anything specific, please feel free to contact me.  You don’t think a lot about these questions, unless of course it is FUN for you.  Simply dream and just let loose, or you let your alter ego answer if you want.   Have a fabulous week everyone!!

Even though I oftentimes will add photos to my answers, it is not a requirement to participate in Share your World.

I will post four different questions each week for you to answer.  There are two ways which you can participate.

  1. Create a  Share Your World  post.  Then post the link to your blog in my comment box or leave your answers in the comments box of my blog.
  2. To make it easy for others to check out your photos, title your blog post “Share Your World” tag.
  3. Remember to Follow My Blog to get your weekly reminders.

I usually will respond to your entry on your blog, rather than on my page.

Here are my answers.

Are you a hugger or a non-hugger?  In most instances I am a hugger.  I am fairly good at reading people and if someone doesn’t want to be hugged or touched I totally respect that.

What’s your favorite ice-cream flavor?  I don’t eat ice cream much anymore, because I don’t eat anything that is cold.  It takes too long for my body to warm back up.  But when I did it was either chocolate/coffee, chocolate peanut butter, cookie dough.

Do you prefer exercising your mind or your body? How frequently do you do either?  I actually exercise my mind a lot.  I am a member of lumosity.com and have been now for awhile.  They have developed games that actually help you build different parts of the mind.  I lived too many years in a mental lymes fog, it is nice getting a clearer mind.  Although I think the best thing I’ve done to exercise my mind is qigong. Exercise my body, that is an entirely different thing.  I’ve been to sick to do a lot. I am however starting to want to do more which means I’m finally getting my body healthy enough that moving is good for it and doesn’t wear me out.  So I’m looking forward to more physical activity this year.  Would I call it exercising …. maybe not, but it will eventually get to where I’m happy with it.

Are you more of a dog person or a cat person? Why?  As you all know we have 2 cats and 2 dogs.  So it is a hard choice.  If I had to I would have to say dog.  I just vibe better with them.

I don't often get all 4 kids in one photo. Cats: charlie on the far left with Freddie snuggled next to him. They are sleeping in Shadow's bed (the pug sitting on the top). MacKenzie is seeing what all the fuss is about. Cats are boy and the dogs are girls.

Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?   Last week I had over 4,600 views on my blog and my highest ever viewing day of 753.  Thank you everyone who stopped by.  I’m thrilled you all are enjoying what I am doing here on my blog.  I know I am having fun and I’m glad you are too.  I was thrilled I could get back in our hot tub again.  A few weeks ago I strained a groin muscle and couldn’t move my leg enough to get in and out of it.

This week I’m looking forward to my monthly qigong session.  Because of the holidays we didn’t have an appointment so I feel like it is long over due.

Qi (energy) hugs,

Cee

  1. How do you enjoy Lumosity Cee? I’ve been a member for 2 years now and I like it. I thought of you on Friday specifically. I went to a job interview and at the reception desk, there was a pamphlet on QiJong. I grabbed it because despite reading your blog I don’t think I understand fully what it is. 😉

    1. Qigong encompasses a lot of things. Mind, body, sprit, lifestyle, exercise, etc. Not an easy concept to grasp that is for sure.
How do I enjoy Lumosity? … I don’t know but I do. I adore competing against myself and always wanting to better myself. I start about 9 months ago and was in like the 70th percentile and I am now up to nearly 95. That is also with all my work on qigong too. I do a lot of exercises that connect the brain to the body so I think that helps too.

  2. I have often wondered about Luminosity. Does it really work? I found something similar for free – an Android app, but I uninstalled it (I forget why). I’m sorry you can’t eat ice cream anymore. I eat it every day. Really 🙂

  3. I used to do luminosity and I got my brother and mom hooked, they still do it. I started working out about 3 months ago. and this months I was given some neurological exercises, so I’m exercising my brain too! My left brain, specifically. My favorite ice cream is salted caramel.
And I’m probably more of a cat person. There are two cats lying next to me as I write this.
Oh, and mostly I’m a hugger (Mexicans are) but I don’t hug much here in the US, as I feel most aren’t.

  4. I’m right there with you on the exercise thing Cee. I chose water aerobics because I love water and It’s an easy way to get back into working out. I use one of those walkers with a bench seat to get from the parking lot to the pool though.

  5. I so relate to your answers, especially about being sick too much to get much exercise. Between all my surgery and the arthritis, I don’t see a lot of exercise in my future, but blogging keeps my brain alive!

I think it’s easier to relate to dogs because they relate to YOU more. I’ve also had a lot of cats and probably have more felines in my future … but not right now. We are full up with four dogs!

More than 700 hits in a day is fantastic! Congratulations!! There’s even better to come!

    1. Actually Chris and I are talking about not replacing our kids as they age out of our lives. They are all getting old. We want the freedom of traveling again. Thanks Marilyn.

  6. Coffee ice cream (anything) is also my fav. I did try lumosity but quit after Kai, now I have no free time, but I’m taking classes and teaching Kai, learning Spanish so I have plenty of ways to exercise my brain. The physical is challenging but if I don’t do my am stretches & strength after about four days I can hardly get out of bed and then the day just goes down from there. I do love swimming, but only from Apr to oct. Even FL gets too cold to swim.

  7. It’s so adorable to see your cats cuddling like that with the pugs sitting nearby. One of my cats likes to sleep in our dogs bed (but would never share it with another cat) and one has ruined two of the dog’s beds by peeing on them. My cats are naughty. Enjoy your Qi Gong class!

  8. I’ve been thinking about doing luminosity I might have to look into that again. I skimmed wikipedia’s description of Qigong, it seems a bit like yoga (the meditation, breathing, moving through a series of movements)… I have yoga penciled into my calendar and unfortunately it is the first thing I ignore on my todo list… I think I need to ink it in. I *always* feel better after a yoga session, not just my body – but I am calmer and things that might upset me just roll off me… yeah – I need to ink that in.
Congratulations on your total views and highest viewing days!
I’m glad you are starting to feel better, I read your lyme disease story, I’m so glad that you have found things that help you not only be a survivor but to actually live. I was a really sickly kid and feel like I spent my childhood in the hospital (I had 25 operations by the time I was 15yrs old) or in the doctor’s office, but after reading your story I feel like my story is child’s play (haha pun intended). I think your blog is fun and look forward to reading it. 🙂

  9. Congratulations on your stats, Cee. You work hard at blogging, I’m glad to see it paying off. Thanks for hosting SYW. Your fur babies are cute. I guess the “Goldilocks” decided whose was the most comfortable bed! Hugs!
