I was feeling sad today, so Chris took me out to see how the Wooden Shoe Tulip Farm fields in Woodburn, Oregon was coming along. It is way early in the season and I knew that tulips wouldn’t be in bloom yet, but I knew some of their daffodils would be. Anyhow here are a couple of photos I did get. And yes, those are red tulips in bloom already in their fields. They have hundreds of acres and rotate their crops in various fields each year.
This first photo I took today of part of the tulip fields. And some of the early bloomers are starting to show color. Needless to say these little red tulips brightened my day. Our weather was partly cloudy and in the 50s.
Here is a photo from last year of the tulips in their full glory. This way you can see how far they have yet to grow.
I caught this man painting their iconic windmill. The windmill wasn’t even totally set up yet.
Here is a photo I took fairly early in the season last year showing the entire windmill.
I will have more photos over the next couple of days.
