Daily Post Weekly Photo Challenge: Reward

I really don’t look at life as a “reward”.  But for this challenge, I have come up with something that might apply.  I hope you like my entry for The Daily Post Weekly Photo Challenge.

Tulips in my back yard. Photo taken this week.

Tulips in my back yard. Photo taken this week.

This seemed like a long winter for me.  In terms of physical energy.  Most of you know that I am slowly recovering from having had Lymes for 30 years.  Do to Qigong and Traditional Chinese Medicine I lymes disease is no longer active in body, but my body has had a lot of damage and is slowly recovering.  (f you have not read my story, click here.)  Anyhow Chris bought me a new camera that came out in late December.  It is a Sony a7II full frame mirrorless camera.  I don’t want to say it was a reward for living through some tough years, but it was in a way.  It was also an award because of my passion for photography and I was more than ready for the next logical step and for me that is a full frame camera.  Along with that camera, I bought a fixed 30mm macro lens.  I have never had such a cool lens.

The tulips below are photos that I took with my fixed lens.  I cut these tulips and brought them in on Wednesday this week.  So here is your REWARD for my growing enthusiasm for photography and flowers.  They are all the same tulip, just different views.

  1. Not only is — especially for you — that camera a fantastic reward, it is also highly appropriate. We will all benefit as a result with beautiful pictures. I’m still struggling too and this very long winter is not helping. A full frame camera seems like a great idea. I haven’t owned anything full from in more than 30 years.

  2. Wonderful picture Cee. So happy to hear that you are recovering from your illness.
Wish and pray that you have a speedy recovery. 🙂

  3. Stunning photos, Cees. Thanks for rewarding us with these views.
I commend you for doing so much and giving us so much despite your health struggle.
PS. I was in doubt between the Sony or Olympus mirrorless and went for Olympus. They are nice and compact and make amazing photos, isn’t it?
Have a great weekend. And thanks again.

  4. 🙂 Touching – not just your story and the way you and your husband deal with life, but also the tulip. 🙂
A very HAPPY weekend to you and yours 🙂

  5. The last photo is my favourite! Love macro shots 🙂
I’m glad that you are now recovering. And thank you for sharing your great passion with us. I hope that I nurture my interests back as I recover as well (from depression) and be as great as you are.
