Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge: Catching People Unaware

031015candid_4This is the third week of my Just Some Fun Topics challenge series.

This week’s topic is Catching People Unaware in another words candid photography, not staged in a way.  Feel free to dig around in your archives for photos if you don’t have anything knew you can photograph.   Most of all I hope you have fun.  This is definitely one where you can add photos of your favorite things.

I had a marvelous response from all of you on last week’s theme of Farm Animals.  Thanks everyone you always amaze and delight me.  I’m proud to announce our featured bloggers from last week’s topic. Their posts really grabbed my attention. Please check out their posts and congratulate them. Maybe you will be chosen next week.

  1. These are great! My favorite is the selective color one. She is adorable 🙂 have a question, is there a proper etiquette for taking pictures of people you don’t know? I’m going to be doing some street photography and would love to take pics of some of the interesting people.

    • I would just go ahead and take the photos. If you think you will ever sell the photos or use it in some kind of advertising. Then you should get their permission to take there photo. In today’s world of camera phones and video surveillance the expectation of privacy in a public place in my mind is completely blown.

  2. Great choices, Cee. I had several I’d found and put in a folder on my desktop with the intention of uploading them to my Dropbox or WordPress before I left home, but it appears I did not do that. Darn!

  4. I’m always a little scared to take shots of people when they’re unaware. I feel like it’s an invasion of privacy or something. Oh heck! I’m going to try it. These are so great!

  5. Great, greEeeEeEeAT shots´- all of them, I would never be able to take photos on people in close up like this. FAB job, Cee! My pick this week is the tractor man. And the man in thoughts.
    One of you best gallery.

      • Even with lenses people are so aware of cameras those day here in Sweden, but that’s okay. Your images are so good … you have really captured the moments.

  6. I love all of those! The child watching the sheep is a lot of fun and I like the selective colour, too.

Thank you so much for choosing The Sparking Synapse as one of your featured bloggers – I am so honoured! Made my day.

Now I’m off to think about candid shots… I worry more about those these days because of the whole model release thing, but I’m sure I can get something!

    • You are welcome. I’ve finally stopped worrying about the release thing. Everyone has cameras with their phones. Although I would never sell photos of people without permission.
