After-Before Friday Week 50

Here is my entry for Stacy’s After-Before Friday challenge Week 50.  Can you believe she’s been doing this almost a year.  WOW has time flown by.  I hope you enjoy my editing this week.

Here is my before photo.  I just liked the clouds with the big trees.  I took this photo with my Sony a7II camera with my 18-200 lens.   It was taken at Schreiner’s Iris Gardens in Salem, Oregon.

With this photo, I decided to turn this rather blah summer capture into an autumn scene with late afternoon lingering storm clouds.  This might be a little over processed, but I am just having some fun with Efex Pro 4.0 software.  I will eventually mellow it out to be more realistic.

After a few standard processing edits in Bridge including cropping out the wires in the lower left corner.  I changed to Efex Pro 4.0 and added these layers.

  • Layers Dark contrast
  • Indian Summer
  • Reflector

Then once since I was in Photoshop, I added red filter at 12%.  Then added a little bit of brightness and contrast.

Have a great weekend everyone.

  1. I really love autumn trees, and your creation here looks absolutely natural. Great editing!

  2. I really have to get out of the rut of using the same Efex filters all the time, Cee! How fun are the ones you chose 🙂 Since I’m a definite fan of fall, I love your new choice of season! Great, fun edit 🙂

  3. Really great editing work. In a new bee to the photoshop and its really hard for me to conquer according to my need. Is Efex 4.0 another software for editing ????

    1. Photoshop is really hard to learn and harder to remember. Nik Software is an add on you can get for Photoshop. It works real well and you can get some great results, a lot easier than using Photoshop. Although you do need photoshop, Lightroom or something like that to have this program work.

  4. Very impressive, Cee! Hard to believe that just a few simple steps can produce such a dramatic change. This is a great advert for the Efex app, that’s for sure. Very nice work, Thanks!
