I love the color in this flower! Very interesting and unusual! Where do you find all of these flowers to capture! I have seen photos of your yard. I will be seriously impressed if they are all from your yard. They are so beautiful! You must have quite the green thumb.

This one is from my old house. We moved in our current house two years ago. I am very fortunate to live in an area where we have huge flower farms and gardens. The majority of my dahlias come from Swan Island Dahlia farm and it is only about 2 miles away from my house. They are the largest dahlia farm in the Western Hemisphere. We’ve got tulip, rose, peony, iris farms all around us. General nurseries that grow a lot of their own plants, trees and shrubs too. Needless to say I am in heaven.

How exciting. I get my Dahlia bulbs from them through mail order. They don’t like our Sacramento heat though so they don’t bloom as well as they do in the cooler climates.
I would be there every day if I lived near it for sure. 🙂

I call it my summer home. They have plenty of picnic tables to just sit admire the view too.
Dahlias need a lot of water. To get them started…no water, but once they pop up, they do need water. They should like the heat. But then you do getter hotter than we do too. So who knows.

Yah, unfortunatly it’s well over a hundred here now. I water them like crazy but they still droop a little at the hot part of the day and then pop right back up when it cools off.

You are over 100 yikes that is hot. We maybe get one or two days of that a year. Our highs are usually in the 90s or high 80s. It just might be too hot for them.
