Here is my entry for Shannon’s Creative Photo Challenge and her topic is Costumes.
Since I am not really into Halloween costumes or anything like that. Here is what I came up with for this week’s topic.
A local clown who has a stand at our Dahlia Festival.
When Chris twisted balloons she dressed partly like a clown here are photos of a pair of shoes she had. She had a magenta wig and and a red nose too. She didn’t want to dress too much like a clown because a lot of kids are afraid of them. So she wore just colorful close otherwise.
This is a photo of Chris at our local Farmers market a few years ago twisting balloon animals for the kids. Notice how closely the kids are watching her.

Those shoes are adorable! From the looks on those kids’ faces, I’d say Chris was very wise to not go overboard with the clown stuff. After watching Steven King’s It years ago, I’m a little leery of clowns myself!

Kids responded to her really well. At an event she attended for the Dougy Center (involving lots of kids) she was even more popular than the Cookie Monster from Sesame Street. It was a proud moment in her clown life.
