Symmetry to a building front.

Love your lighthouse and the painted lady 🙂 We have quite of few of the big, restored Victorians around here. I’m going to take a couple of days and try to get some fresh pictures of local architecture. Great choice, Cee!

The remarkable Bello and Reborati Houses of Montevideo were an architectural revelation for me during our visit to Uruguay in February:

Just FYI — my pingbacks have stopped working. Again. The Happiness Engineers are working on it, but for the time being, until they get it sorted out, I’m afraid you’ll need to drop a link rather than use a pingback. Sorry about this, especially since I know you just got the problem fixed on your site — and it was just a month or so ago that I fixed it on Serendipity.

From the images you posted, I can’t really get a good fix on what type of buildings you like. I had no idea what I liked, either, until I had a slap-my-forehead moment. It’s got to be old wooden, half rotted structures for me. Don’t ask me why. Maybe it’s the history behind each one.

I almost went with old. I really don’t know what I like best. I know I adore barns…. 😀

Thank you for featuring my ‘What is it’ post (it actually was a canoe with a net). Your architecture photos are very inspiring. I love the country church and the light house, but most of all the residence. It is a nicely balanced architecture that somehow makes the house vulnerable. I will have a go at this theme later this week.
