Cee’s Black & White Photo Challenge: Close-ups

Dandelion

Dandelion

This week’s Cee’s Black and White Photo Challenge (CB&W) topic is Close-Ups.  Again the topic is up to your own interpretation this week.   I want to see photographs that show things up close and personal.  If you have a macro lens all the better.  If you don’t get in and focus as close as you can to any object.  Let’s see the details.  Have a lot of fun with this topic.  Sepia tones and selective color are always allowed in this challenge.  I just want you to have some fun with your photography.

For a list of upcoming topics, please see the list at below.  Be creative and challenge yourself.  For a great black and white photo look for contrast or highly textured subjects to photograph.

  1. Thank you for the fun challenge, Cee! The only camera I use is on my phone. I always have it with me, and I’m always finding things I want to capture! I’m finding that my hands are not as steady as they used to be, but close-up shots are my favorite. It was fun trying to think of the light and dark contrasts when choosing my picture for this challenge. I’m learning a lot from your tips! Thank you for sharing.

  2. Ooopppsss … looks like Freddie has aspirations of becoming a chef. LOL
I couldn’t resist taking a close-up of my King Pelu. Hope you enjoy, Cee.
Thank you for hosting your challenges.

  3. Can’t pick a favorite…although maybe the cat and the tulip? But I’ve been trying to get that dandelion shot for a long time. Is it just because I don’t have a macro lens?

    • Nope, it is not the lens. Well it could be. I found it takes a steady hand more than anything. I’ve worked at getting that dandelion shot for years.

  4. These are so great and full of life, Cee. I’m crazy about the cat one, but all are excellent. Now I want to redo mine which seem pretty lifeless.

  5. I cannot pick one out to like most of all, they are all vey good although on a second look, yes the cat is a very intriguing photo and has atmosphere.

  6. Love the flower shots – particularly the dandelion! Those are always fun to photograph, although my challenge is remembering to photograph before blowing! 🙂

  7. They’re all great. I particularly love the cat’s curiosity, but the dog’s eyes won my heart ❤

  8. Love Freddie of course, and the Irish Wolfhound – I always wanted to have one…but they are too big and do not have a long life span. I don’t have a macro, but I’m trying…

  9. Wonderful collection of closeups. I suppose you won’t be surprised when I tell you that lovely portrait of an Irish Wolfhound is special. They are the sweetest dogs in the world and your picture really catches that.
