This is my entry for Becca’s (from On Dragonfly Wings with Buttercup Tea blog) Sunday Trees – 245 challenge.
This is a Weeping Golden Chain Tree (Laburnum watereri).
And here is a close up to its bloom and leaves.

Wow!!!!! We also call it the Golden Shower and Lluvia del Oro tree (Shower of Rain.) I’ve never seen one so full before, though. This is just stunning. Did you ever see the golden oldie movie “Raintree County?”

I don’t remember seeing a movie called Raintree County. I just saw the clip for it. Looks kind of fun.

That’s got to be one of the best Laburnum trees I’ve ever seen!! We call them Golden Rain trees in the UK 🙂 They lost a certain amount of popularity here over the last few decades as they’re well known for being poisonous.

Their flowers I believe are poisonous. 😀

Yes it is the flowers! We had it drummed into us as kids that they were never to be touched. It’s still one of my mum’s favourite flowering trees 🙂
