The Daily Post: Tree and JNW’s Halloween Challenge: Haunted

Here is my entry for:

These photos were taken at the Lone Fir Pioneer Cemetery in Portland, Oregon.

Trees I believe a protect energy force.  People hug trees, sit under trees for shelter from weather.  They give homes to animals and insects.  Trees are a symbol of great strength.

I love the old trees in this cemetery.  They have such character.  I know a lot of people think that cemeteries are haunted.  After these photos, you can judge for yourself.

I call this the the opera singer or the yawner. What’s your opinion?

Huge tree covered in moss.

Doesn’t this look almost like the foot of an elephant?

Why did these four huge trees not protect the people's gravestones?

  1. Maybe vandals broke the stones. The trees couldn’t fight against those, unfortunately. This looks like a great cemetery! I find cemeteries to be very peaceful places, usually. It is the living that sometimes are the problem, not the dead.

For your first one, I think “yawner” works…it made me yawn when I saw its mouth open. haha That is a great tree and photo, as are all of them. It looks like that cemetery has some wonderful old “name rocks”. 🙂

    Have a blessed day!
