It is time of the month for Stacy at Visual Venturing, One Photo Focus Challenge.
This month photo was submitted by Y. Prior — Priorhouse. It is the first time we are all playing with an iPhone photo. The photo is of the lobby of The Jefferson Hotel in Richmond, Virginia, which she reports was built in 1895. Following a fire, the interior was redone in 1901. The carpet in the atrium cost $120,000 (years ago).
I happened to crop out much of the carpet. I did some minor edits in Adobe Bridge. Then added several layers in Color FX Pro. Here is my interpretation of this photo.

The moment I saw your photograph I recognized the space! I am a Richmond gal and have many fond memories of this beautiful, historic landmark. Love your b/w photo Cee.

Nice cool tone, Cee! That, coupled with the close crop, really makes all the wonderful details pop. Thanks so much for taking the time to play along this month. I always love having you here 🙂

Thanks Stacy. I almost didn’t play along, but since I never skipped a 1PF I just had too. I’m glad I did. People seem to like my edits. 😀

Fantastic! So many textures in that photo it almost screamed to be in black and white.

Cee – i love what you did with your edit – feels LIT up – like a sign. But not too lit – the color layers give it this cool tone – very cool (pun intended) 🙂
