I want this job in my next life

As a photographer, there is only one job I would really want.  I would have to be much healthier and more flexible.  I would love to be the official White House photographer.  Click on this link from Twisted Sifter to see Pete Souza, photographer, for The White House 55 favorite photos he has taken to date.  He has taken around 2 million photos.

At the bottom of the link, you can listen to Pete Souza who did an interview with the BBC.

Pete Souza is the Chief Official White House Photographer for President Obama, and the Director of the White House photo office.

Previously Souza has worked as an Assistant Professor of Photojournalism at Ohio University, the national photographer for the Chicago Tribune based in their Washington bureau, a freelancer for National Geographic, and as Official White House Photographer for President Reagan.   — PeteSouza.com

  1. Marvellous photos. It would be a fascinating job but certainly would come with some stress. But worth it. I once saw a very good documentary film about the videographer for the Queen. That was also very interesting as he had started out as a news photog and had some famous coverage of the ‘troubles’ in Northern Ireland. So the Queen was a lower stress assignment for him. Thanks so much for posting this I really enjoyed it.

    • Hi Anne, I can’t imagine the hours and stress he has to deal with, but it would be so worth it. I’d think the Queen would be a busy assignment as well. Glad you liked this post.

  2. Wow! I’m not a photographer, but that job sounds exciting and stressful. I took a peek at some of the photos. Very intimate view into the world of both the President and what the job of his photographer entails.

  3. Souza has a great instinct for capturing a mood.

I’m going to miss this President. I think it’s pretty unlikely we will see heartwarming photos like this from your next leader.

  4. A gig and a half!
Conversely, I wonder how many would truly want the job during the Trump presidency?
Maybe more than I think! 😉
    Excellent post, Cee.

  5. Oh my goodness! You’ll have to join the queue, because I’m having this job! Thanks SO much for the link, the photos are brilliant. I love the Spiderman one, it reminds me of my grandson, and the one with the rainbow. I’d like to reblog this, is that ok?

    • I’m fine with you reblogging this one. My two favorites (of the moment) President Obama and Michelle waiting to enter a ball 2009. Then the one the President Obama stepping on the scale when the one guy was weighing. I think I would have a new favorite every time I look through them.

  6. Oh I thought you want to be the president 😀 I looked at the title first and then the photo before I read the whole post.
