This week the topic is Sculptures, Statues, Carvings. This week is all about showing off artwork. Some maybe quite simple and other quiet ornate and intricate. Have fun finding different sculptures, statues or carvings you enjoy. The more detailed your photos the better. I just want you to have some fun with your photography.
For a list of upcoming topics, please see the list below. Be creative and challenge yourself. For a great black and white photo look for contrast or highly textured subjects to photograph.
Feel free to dig around in your archives for photos if you don’t have anything new you can photograph.

What a great shot of the tinman. I would have went further away and it would have been a boring picture. You went close up and looked up and it’s a great shot. I have so much to learn but at least now I can see it. 🙂

Lovely fairy statue with good details. It is difficult to bring a statue to life in just black and white and really depends on the quality of the photos in the first place.

You are ever so right. Hard to show character and a story when there is nothing moving or alive. 😀

I love the detail on the wood carvings and the tinman is splendid. Bert Lahr would be happy. He never felt properly appreciated.

Actually, I erred. Bert was the Lion. The Tin Man was Jack Haley, a local Boston, Massachusetts kid.

I love that final tin man shot – a combination of sci-fi and tradition captured with intrigue.
I think sculptures are one of the hardest things to capture with real feeling – not quite the word I mean, but hard to make them different. You’ve done that well Cee

Great topic for this week!! The most challenging part for me was not to put too many photos, hahaha.
Really good shoot of the firefighter statue!! As said above, the angle and getting that close was key to the composition! 🙂
