Share Your World – April 10, 2017

One of my all time favorite dahlia, Oregon Reign. I love the purple outline on the petals.

Have you ever participated in a distance walking, swimming, running, or biking event? Tell your story.

Name one thing not many people know about you.

What is your favorite flower?

Things I want to have in my home (paintings, hot tubs, book cases, big screen tv etc)

Optional Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?

Even though I oftentimes will add photos to my answers, it is not a requirement to participate in Share your World.

I will post four different questions each week for you to answer.  There are two ways which you can participate.

  1. Create a SYW  post.  Then post the link to your blog in my comment box or leave your answers in the comments box of my blog.
  2. To make it easy for others to check out your photos, title your blog post “Share Your World” or “SYW” tag.
  3. Remember to Follow My Blog to get your weekly reminders.

I usually will respond to your entry on your blog, rather than on my page.

Have you ever participated in a distance walking, swimming, running, or biking event? Tell your story.  When I was in my early 20s, I ran just for fun.  A friend asked me to join in a 5K race with her.  I totally bombed out and ran/walked the race.  I put way to much pressure on myself.  All I can say is I did not come in last and never wanted to run in another race.  Running was something I did for me.

My sticky buns looked similar to this.

Name one thing not many people know about you.  I was a good baker may years ago.  Bread, sticky buns and pancakes were my specialty.  I stopped baking when bread makers got popular.  I would make fresh bread for parties or sticky buns.  I even won an award at a County Fair in my late teens.  I am now starting to make whole grain waffles for both Chris and I.

What is your favorite flower? If you follow my blog at all, you probably already now this answer, dahlias are my favorite flowers.

Things I want to have in my home (paintings, hot tubs, book cases, big screen tv etc)  I’m going off list here I want a maid and a personal chef.  Big things, I want to get rid of the couch in the living room, we don’t use it.

Would like:

  • Wood floor
  • Fresh paint inside and outside
  • Tankless Hot Water Heater
  • Bigger windows in our living room

Optional Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?

I am glad last week is over.  With both Chris and I getting a stomach flu of some sort, it wasn’t real fun.  Although by the end of the weekend we both perked up some.  So I would like more of the healthy part of daily activity.  I want to get to the tulip festival this week.  We ended up having a wind storm last week which was the worse this area has seen in 60 yeas.  So being outside and enjoying the beauty was not really an option, during the week.  The tulip festival is way to busy on the weekend.

Qi (energy) hugs

  1. The picture of the sticky buns has me drooling here. I usually try not to read your answers before I do mine, but this time I did – and it probably will influence mine, because it expanded my thought process for the answers. First, I must go get another cup of coffee. Or maybe Chai Latte.

  2. Pingback: GOOD LUCK
  3. Well, glad to hear you guys are back to normal- or close to it. When I had the stomach flu- or whatever it was- it lasted almost two weeks and Lynn was rude enough not to join me in my discomfort. Glad to hear you guys share! 😉

  4. I’m glad you and Chris are feeling better. The weather this year is so unpredictably and unusual. I got cold one morning and had runny nose. I told some herb tea and went to bed right away. Good thing it didn’t get worse. Hope you get to the Tulip festival!

    1. The biggest reason I’m not going is it has been too windy. He fields are now just getting pretty and that I take windy or not. But you know me with close ups…wind is not good for that. Also my one leg I bruised real bad when I fell is still real sore if I walk a lot.

  5. So glad to hear you’re rebounding — I’ve heard the flu is terrible this year! (Knock on wood.) Baking has been one of my loves for a long time, too.

  6. I did a 5km race and a 10km race and both times for me in that sense. First time I managed to finish in 28 minutes, second time I did the 10km in 52min, which I thought was amazing. I managed to not pay attention to everyone around me but focus on my run and to make the time I had wanted to make (56min). When I realize that I would come in under that time I felt even better 🙂

  7. Mmmm… Those cinnamon rolls look delicious! I’ve always made bread. My dad used to make fun of me. He would say, “Bread’s cheap. Why do you want to make it?” (He’s a Franz white bread kind of guy.) But there’s nothing like the smell of fresh baked bread! My kids appreciate my welll-honed skills. 🙂

And I’m with you on the maid. I’d take one of those. (Though I’d have to clean up a bit when I knew she was coming.)

  8. It’s late in the morning here, not quite lunchtime, and the photo of the sticky buns is about too much for me to handle. Yummy.

Over the years we’ve had wooden floors installed, room by room, in the downstairs of our home. It’s been a wonderful upgrade, and to my eye, soothing. Hope you get yours soon.
