This is the second week of my current series, which I call The Seasons and Elements. Hopefully this series will bring out our creative side with some unique perspectives and ways of looking at things. This week the topic is Harvest – Earth.
Late Summer is time of harvest, a time of plenty, of reaping what we have worked for throughout the year. The plants and animals have grown and produced the fruit of their labour.
If our Earth is of good quality, like quality soil, we will have the ability to produce good food to nourish ourselves — 5 Elements of Nature
You can take photos of anything that relates to the seasons of Harvest (Late Summer) or anything to do with Earth (dirt or untouched land). Have fun with this challenge. Use your imagination for this theme. The thing is to have a lot of fun with this challenge.
Go through you photo archives and see what photos you have that fits the current week’s challenge, or better yet grab you camera and take a new photo! ENJOY and have FUN.

We used to have a lot more farming areas around here, but a lot of farmers have sold and moved to places like Iowa which have better soil. The winters are so hard here, it makes farming difficult. So mostly, we have dairy and hard veggies — peppers and pumpkins and apples and some household vegetables. Dairy does well, though, even in bad times. Dairy, apples (when the caterpillars are not around), pumpkins, and a bit of corn. When we do get local corn, it is the BEST corn anywhere ever 🙂

Our corn here in Oregon is nothing like we used to get in Colorado.

The last one looks like hops nearly ready to be made into beer.
