Here is my entry for this week’s Daily Post Weekly Photo Challenge with the topic of Surprise. ENJOY.
It was a cold, frosty, icy morning Canby when Chris and I woke up at 5:30 am. I felt down and told Chris. So Chris said pack up your camera, we are going to McMinnville, Oregon. That usually means we are heading to the Evergreen Aviation Museum. With cameras in hand, Chris, MacKenzie (our pug) and I were off to McDonalds for a quick breakfast and we were on the road before 6:30 am. We got to McMinnville and she kept driving. She drove me to the D River Beach in Lincoln City.
It was foggy most of the way to the beach (nearly two hour drive). The last five miles the fog lifted and the beach was absolutely gorgeous. Talk about a wonderful surprise. Here are a few photos.

I enjoy the first capture the most. I count at least 13 horizontal layers in the photo

It was such a beautiful day Carol. We literally had fog down to Otis. Then it just opened up at the beach just for us. 😀

Yikes! What is that one woman doing with her jacket tied around her waist?! Isn’t the beach wonderful in the winter? I love having it all to myself.

Oregon beaches are usually that empty. Although this particular beach is in the middle of town and usually fairly busy, but nothing like what you would get.

Stunning beaches. A wonderful surprise. I can smell the salty air from here.

Strange there wasn’t a huge salty smell because the wind was so calm. 😀
