Share Your World – April 17, 2017

When writing by hand do you prefer to use a pencil or pen?

Would you rather be an amazing dancer or an amazing singer?

If you were on a debate team, what subject would you relish debating?

What are you a “natural” at doing?

Optional Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?

Even though I oftentimes will add photos to my answers, it is not a requirement to participate in Share your World.

If you adore challenges as much as I do, please check out WordPress’s Blog Event Listing for other challenges.

I will post four different questions each week for you to answer.  There are two ways which you can participate.

  1. Create a SYW  post.  Then post the link to your blog in my comment box or leave your answers in the comments box of my blog.
  2. To make it easy for others to check out your photos, title your blog post “Share Your World” or “SYW” tag.
  3. Remember to Follow My Blog to get your weekly reminders.

I usually will respond to your entry on your blog, rather than on my page.

When writing by hand do you prefer to use a pencil or pen?   I actually prefer using a pen.  In my third grade summer summer school, my teacher had us kids write in pen rather than pencil.  One of her assignments were to write out in pen the word “Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious” with out a mistake using a pen.

Would you rather be an amazing dancer or an amazing singer?  This is certainly a tough question of me.  Can’t I chose both.  I’m really too tall to be a dancer, although I have the heart more of a dancer than singer.  I was a huge fan of the US TV show Fame.  I had the movie Sound Track and would dance or do aerobics to the music.  This was way back before aerobics got popular.

If you were on a debate team, what subject would you relish debating?  In todays era, I really have no clue.  As a teenager (from about age 12 to 20), I debated against nuclear power.  Me and a friend loved to debate and we each did a lot of research.  I even debated with my brother-in-law who was in the Navy and in training for nuclear subs.  And yes, we are still friends to this day.

What are you a “natural” at doing?  There are two things I do that I feel come quite naturally to me, which in my mind means I didn’t have to study hard to learn.  Math is the first one.  I just know math. I’ve never studied it beyond basic college prep, but any thing having to do with numbers I always know the answers even before the experts.  The other thing that comes naturally to me is photography which includes composition.  I think that is all about math and how I see the world.

Optional Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?

This past weekend Chris and I went to the beach.  Did you see my post about how Chris treated me to a surprise beach trip?  It was a perfect morning.  Sunny, calm winds and warm for this time of the year.  I’ll take more of that this week.  I am planning on running up to the Tulip Festival after I get a couple things done.  Our weather is finally clearing up a little bit.

  2. Greetings Cee!! The TV show Fame was a favorite of mine also. 🙂 😀 I also Love photography and pets unfortunately I suck at math. Never did well in math and barely passed most of my math classes. I think I have a numbers block. Anyway English Literature made up for that and I excelled in all forms of English from K – 12 and in college. Here are my answers:

  3. I like to hand-write my poetry in a sketchbook in pencil but don’t erase–rather scratch out, add, whatever…all over the large page.
I used to be a good singer but my vocal cords were messed up thanks to too many surgeries/intubations. I would love to sing again. Too old for dancing, I’m afraid. I took a 2 hour cha cha lesson and had to have a meniscus repair after!
I don’t like confrontation! So as for debate, it would have to be something fluffy like “What’s your favorite candy bar. Pathetic, huh, for someone who does have some pretty strong beliefs.
I’m a natural word-person. As for numbers, I have a calculator in my golf bag. (I do, but don’t really have to use it.)
I’m grateful for Easter, all it means to me spiritually and the family/friends it brings together. My mom, who died in October, was big on Easter. This year I used many of her decorations to bring her in to the celebration.

  4. That surprise trip to the beach sounds like something we could use about now. As usual, I love getting a glimpse into your life. I will try to get something together in a bit- I enjoy this challenge!

          1. It’s something to be proud of that you’ve done it. I had done many things that I can’t do them now. If we continue to do everything we could do, it’d be overwhelming. I just relax and do I could and enjoy doing now!!

  5. I thought I’d commented already, Cee. I’m sorry that I missed actually posting the comment to you on Monday. Old lady brain is going strong here these days. 🙂

Your beach photo is great. I love photographing the gulls, especially in flight.

Math! Scary stuff! I can do the kind of math that I need to do, but once they throw the alphabet in there with the numbers, forget it. I don’t think the two should be mixed. Letters are for words and numbers are, well, numbers. haha I passed Algebra, but I didn’t enjoy anything about that class except for the teacher. He was a nice and funny guy.

Have a blessed week. I’m headed over to look at your tulips photos now!

  6. I can image you can be a great debater!!!! May I ask how tall you’re???? I like math too, but I’m so bad with figures .. I turn them around, but I get it right in the end, not one of my strongest points – but I like it. Love that beach image. I will post my entry tomorrow.
Cee, been to famous Keukenhof now .. and I have seen about 4 million tulips .. in all form, shapes and colours … tulips that you can’t even dream about excite. There will be a post. Enjoy your Tulip day.
