Portrait… I like the big sky

The landscape one lacks the bottom part, which is cool. So I prefer the portrait one. Although you could do several vertical photos and combine them into a landscape-oriented pano.

I prefer the portrait. It’s “tighter”, and easier to look at.. More detail is visible, and the contrast between the sky and the field is far more dramatic.

Generally speaking, I tend to like photos in landscape and that’s true for this one too. Although I do agree with Bushboy. The version in portrait does give the photo great depth along the rows of flowers.

The landscape is more truthful to a world that is full, the portrait stretches one’s ambitions. 🙂

Portrait. Even before I saw the landscape, I thought it was perfect already. If their positions were switched, who knows if I’d say the same thing. 🙂

This last batch of people all liked the Portrait best. You are right, whichever you see first wins. 😀 I like the landscape, but only slightly because the portrait has the sky.

I like the portrait better. The sense of the lines giving depth of the rows of flowers

I think it depends upon what your subject is. I rarely use portrait mode as I feel that landscape gives you the full picture.

I use both views a lot. Thanks for adding your opinion. 😀 😀

So beautiful both ways, but I think the sky wins in the portrait. Such a great day for the sky AND the fields AND you 🙂

The sky does win on the portrait view. 😀

Oh, it’s hard to choose Cee. The scope of the landscape is impressive and I am usually a landscape person. But I think that i prefer the portrait this time – I like the extra bit of foreground and the striking sky.

I prefer the landscape because of its width and it shows the majesty of the tulip fields and the sky clouds. I like to use landscape when the subject is being featured, and when it deals with height, as in the view off a tall skyscraper, or detailing a tall tree.

I like the landscape too. I think the clouds adds to the photo.
