Share Your World – July 3, 2017

For your main meal do you prefer sweet and sour, hot and spicy, spicy and sweet, bitter, salty, bland or other?

Where do you hide junk when people come over?

What daily habit would you like to introduce to your life?

If you were to perform in the circus, what would you do?

Optional Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?

Even though I oftentimes will add photos to my answers, it is not a requirement to participate in Share your World.

I will post four different questions each week for you to answer.  There are two ways which you can participate.

  1. Create a SYW  post.  Then post the link to your blog in my comment box or leave your answers in the comments box of my blog.
  2. To make it easy for others to check out your photos, title your blog post “Share Your World” or “SYW” tag.
  3. Remember to Follow My Blog to get your weekly reminders.

I usually will respond to your entry on your blog, rather than on my page.

HERE ARE MY ANSWERS

For your main meal do you prefer sweet and sour, hot, spicy, bitter, salty, bland or other?  Out of these choices I would have to say spicy.  I need some flavor in my food.

Where do you hide junk when people come over?  We really don’t hide our junk.  Our house isn’t that messy and things that are out of have place to go. We’d definitely have to vacuum and dust though.

What daily habit would you like to introduce to your life?  I would like to have a daily meditation practice.  I jut don’t always think of it.

If you were to perform in the circus, what would you do?  Probably a rhythmic dancer/gymnast or trapeze performer, if I was much younger.  Since I’m older, I would like to be someone who sells popcorn or cotton candy so I can see the happy faces and excitement of this kids (both young and old).

Optional Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?  I’m glad that last week is over.  It was a long week for a bunch of reasons. I pulled a groin muscle and it hurt only when I walked or stood up.  My muscle is now almost back to normal.  Yesterday was the first day I could really move without feeling set back.   I did manage to get some much needed rest last week.  This week I’m hoping for a little more activity again.

  1. Sorry to hear about the groin pain. Hope you are completely on the mend!
I’ve tried meditation, and I have the same problem as you – getting it down to a routine element of the day. I have lots of excuses – such as rarely having alone/quiet time, but I know that if I really wanted to do it, I would make it happen. For me, the biggest resistance is the feeling of self-consciousness I get when I sit. Ah well, maybe one day!

  3. So glad you’re feeling better — those pulled muscles are a pain. Your circus answer reminded me why I loved working in the ice cream shops so much. Everyone smiles when you hand them ice cream!

  4. If I know people are coming over, I vacuum and dust because the dust does have a tendency to build up around here. Eventually, I’ll notice it and take care of it – it’s that housekeeping is not and never has been a favorite thing to do for me. During this time of year, I vacuum more often, because the Shasta hair becomes overwhelming. That girl should be bald with all the hair she sheds!

  6. I enjoyed reading your answers today and glad your muscle pain is subsiding. As far as meditation, it doesn’t have to be regimented. Enjoying the moment of peace and beauty while you photograph your flowers can be your moment of meditation. I use every moment of beauty as my meditation. I do use guided meditation to control pain and for insomnia. Good luck in your efforts.

    1. I so agree with you, that when I’m out with my camera I’m in a meditative or spiritual place. I’m really good at enjoying the moment. I really don’t like guided meditations. I get in a blank mind fairly easy. The talking always interrupts me.

  7. Seeing your comment about selling popcorn and cotton candy made me smile.

I’m sorry to hear of your injury. I met up yesterday with a friend who has been dealing with sciatica for a month now. We take our mobility for granted until something like that happens. Being bipedal has its limitations. I hope you’re feeling better.
