Share Your World – July 10, 2017

My home office window on a rainy day.

How do you like to spend a rainy day?

List at least five favorite treats. (They do not have to be sugary).

Where’s your favorite place to take out-of-town guests?

You are trapped in an elevator, who would you want to be trapped with?

Optional Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?

Even though I oftentimes will add photos to my answers, it is not a requirement to participate in Share your World.

I will post four different questions each week for you to answer.  There are two ways which you can participate.

  1. Create a SYW  post.  Then post the link to your blog in my comment box or leave your answers in the comments box of my blog.
  2. To make it easy for others to check out your photos, title your blog post “Share Your World” or “SYW” tag.
  3. Remember to Follow My Blog to get your weekly reminders.

I usually will respond to your entry on your blog, rather than on my page.

HERE ARE MY ANSWERS

How do you like to spend a rainy day?  If it is an isolated rainy and cool day, Chris and I like to watch some of our favorite TV shows and just have a mellow day inside.  In Oregon rarely do we have an isolated rainy and cool day.  Once our rains start in September rain can happen almost every day through May.  Them maybe not quite as much rain.  That kind of rain, us Oregonians just consider it another day.

My favorite breakfast at Spanish Head Hotel Restaurant, Lincoln City, Oregon. I’ve had it three times now. Little to sweet but well worth it.

List at least five favorite treats. (They do not have to be sugary).

  • Chocolate Chip Cookie
  • Eclairs
  • Goji Berries
  • Peanut butter
  • Onion Rings (as long as they are crunchy)
  • Tiramisu although I haven’t had one in years
  • Stuffed Crème Brulée French Toast
Multnomah Falls on a drizzly foggy morning.

Where’s your favorite place to take out-of-town guests?  First place we take guests is usually along the Old Columbia River Gorge Old Highway.  There are waterfalls, moss forests and the scenery along the Columbia River is always stunning.  Next we go the beach.

You are trapped in an elevator, who would you want to be trapped with?  I’ve posted this question before and one person came up with the most practical answer that I am going to steal.  I would like to be trapped with the guy who can fix the elevator from inside.

Optional Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?    Last week was a wonderful week.  My body is still responding wonderful well to my physical activity.  Over the past couple of months, I have gone from walking an average of 1500 steps per day to over 5,600 steps.  There is a lot more I’m doing, but that is the best indicator that I am watching right now.

  2. Good to hear you’re feeling more fit every day. I’m going backwards but not because of any physical illness. This heat just prevents us from getting outside to do anything. This could be the last summer in Las Vegas for us if things work out! I would love to be in Oregon September through May for some much needed rain!

  3. I really like your elevator answer. That’s why I write first and read you second. You often give answers that are perfect and if I read yours first, I will have a lot of trouble not copying you 😀

  5. Oh! Next trip to the coast I have got to go to the Spanish Head Hotel restaurant and have some of that Creme Brûlée French Toast. Hmmm, wonder if I could find a place to sleep this week one day?

      1. I’m afraid I don’t understand the excitement over the eclipse. What’s more amazing to me is that the earth continues to revolve, despite mankind.

  7. Haha – a guy who could fix the elevator. Why didn’t I think of that. Who wants to be trapped in an elevator, even in the best of circumstances? 🙂

  8. That French toast looks amazing, although truth be known I’d rather have a few onion rings as my treat. Great answer about being stuck with the elevator repair person. Smart answer.
