Paula from Lost in Transition blog hosts a monthly challenge called Black and White Sunday: After and Before July. This is the first time I am playing in this challenge.
I took these haystacks last year while I was on vacation in Idaho. I really don’t know which photo I like best. I think I lean toward the black and white version. What do you think?

I choose the color image…it looks as though they are snuggled up to each other…cozy.

I think the b/w is more dramatic.

I like both. The colors are rich, but the texture is great in the black and white.

I really like both too.

I like the color. The only time black and white works for me is when there’s high contrast. I’m guessing the choices will be pretty evenly split.

So far it is fairly evenly split. 😀

I usually prefer b & w for texture but this time the individual strands of hay seem more pronounced in the color!

Thanks Emilio. I agree with you on the texture.

I like the black and white- I can see every strand in each roll. Dramatic

I prefer the colour version – probably because of the rich contrast in the colours of the sky and hay, from opposite sides of the colour wheel.

The color is contrasting colors. 😀

Both equally good with their own merits.. that makes one great picture!

Haystacks usually look great in monochrome and your wonderful composition is not an exception. Love the detail in black & white and toned sky in colour. Really nice both of them. Thank you, Cee.
