Here is my entry for Paula’s (Lost In Translation blog) Thursday Special challenge. This week her theme is Pick a Word In January – Y3.

algid
Algid is a rather cold and lonely word, etymologically speaking-it’s the only word in any of the dictionaries we publish that comes from the Latin word algēre, meaning “to feel cold.”

Just love algid. I don’t have cold here so it was a struggle for me 🙂

Lovely shots Cee but your cold sure does look cold. Hope you are warm in the cold weather we hear you are experiencing at the moment.

I am in a part of the country where the “deep freeze” as we call it doesn’t exist. We are well above freezing and raining.

All of your photos for this prompt are amazing, Cee. Who knew geese had barbed tongues? And that ice-sheathed ivy leave is wonderful.

This is the first time i realized that geese have teeth, sort of. That’s how they can eat the roots and stuff in the ponds. Cool!
