Daily Post Weekly Photo Challenge: Thomas Kay Woolen Mill Tour

Here is my entry for WordPress Daily Post Weekly Challenge with the topic of Tour Guide.

Here are some photos from historic Thomas Kay Woolen Mill in Salem, Oregon.  Chris and I looked the guided tour many years ago on a sunny winter day.  There were only about 10 over head lightbulbs in the entire factory.  Windows and daylight lit most of the areas.

  1. Most of our mills are something else inside, if they are still standing. Many of the wooden ones have burned down, most recently Bernat Mills in Uxbridge which burned for nearly a month before it finally ended. They look so attractive now, with all the light … but I don’t think they were all that nice for the people who worked there.

        1. That was a wonderful sunny day, so lighting was real good. Although most of the time we are gray skies and dark. I also think that when they were running full stream ahead they were a 24/7 operation and only with a few old light bulbs.
