How do you like your eggs?

Have you ever met anyone famous?

What was the first thing you bought with your own money?

What did you appreciate or what made you smile this past week?  Feel free to use a quote, a photo, a story, or even a combination.

Even though I oftentimes will add photos to my answers, it is not a requirement to participate in Share your World.

I will post four different questions each week for you to answer.  There are two ways which you can participate.

  1. Create a SYW  post.  Then post the link to your blog in my comment box or leave your answers in the comments box of my blog.
  2. To make it easy for others to check out your photos, title your blog post “Share Your World” or “SYW” tag.
  3. Remember to Follow My Blog to get your weekly reminders.

I usually will respond to your entry on your blog, rather than on my page.

HERE ARE MY ANSWERS

How do you like your eggs?  Scrambled and not runny.  I also like deviled eggs.

Have you ever met anyone famous?  Probably the most famous person I’ve ever met was Marilyn Van Derbur.  She was Miss America in 1958 (yes that is before I was born).  She came out as an incest survivor (1990ish) and she founded the the Survivor United Network center, a peer based survivor group in Denver, Colorado.  I was very active as an incest survivor and worked with professionals and ran peer support groups for other survivors.  I volunteered at Marilyn’s center and got to know her on a personal level.  The last contact I had with her was in 2006.  Marilyn is still an outspoken public speaker on incest and trauma.  She is wonderful caring person.

What was the first thing you bought with your own money?  It must have been a Partridge Family record album.

It snowed over night, maybe 1/4 inch on the ground.  Everything looks so pretty and fresh.  That put a smile on my face.  It is most likely the snow I’ll see this year.  That puts a smile on my face as well.

  1. I remember when Marilyn VanDurber won the Miss American pageant. Of course, I was but a wee babe then :). l did not know that she was an incest survivor or founded a survivor’s group. Oh yeah – deviled eggs! I like them too, but had forgotten about them. That’s sort of one of those summer dishes for me. We probably got 6″ or a bit more of snow. Hopefully that will be the most we’ll get this season – it’s come very late for being our biggest snow.

  2. I forgot about deviled eggs. My sister and I once irritated my mom by devouring the plate of deviled eggs she had prepared for Easter brunch. 🙂
Was that the last of your snow?
