The first photo looks like the efforts by YFC members but may not be! That’s members of Young Farmers Club which meet around the UK, sharing and teaching farming way of life to young people whether they are from country backgrounds or anywhere… the aim being to keep alive the appreciation for farming and it’s roots.
God that was heavy. Where’s the vodka? 🤣

We have a farmer who writes messages on hay bale. The first year was: “Have you thanked a farmer today?” It’s fun to drive by his farm in the fall and read his message. 😉

A nearby farm who really caters to children (they have a petting zoo and lots of kids activities) paints haystacks in the late summer early fall for Halloween and US Thanksgiving.

It is actually a logging/lumber company who planted it. In the spring the smiley face is light green and colored in autumn. I think it is a neat idea.
