Share Your World – April 30, 2018

Do you use paper money? If so is your money organized sequentially according to denomination?

You are comfortable doing nothing? For long stretches of time?

What is your greatest strength?

What did you appreciate or what made you smile this past week?  Feel free to use a quote, a photo, a story, or even a combination.

Even though I oftentimes will add photos to my answers, it is not a requirement to participate in Share your World.

If you adore challenges as much as I do, please check out WordPress’s Blog Event Listing for other challenges.

I will post four different questions each week for you to answer.  There are two ways which you can participate.

  1. Create a SYW  post.  Then post the link to your blog in my comment box or leave your answers in the comments box of my blog.
  2. To make it easy for others to check out your photos, title your blog post “Share Your World” or “SYW” tag.
  3. Remember to Follow My Blog to get your weekly reminders.

I usually will respond to your entry on your blog, rather than on my page.

HERE ARE MY ANSWERS

Do you use paper money? If so is your money organized sequentially according to denomination?  I rarely use paper money, but if I do, yes it is organized.  Largest denomination in the back facing forward to the smaller ones in the front.  My mom was a bank teller in the 1970s while I was a teenager and I learned from her how to count and sort money.  So it is a thing with me.

You are comfortable doing nothing? For long stretches of time?  Yes, I am.   I enjoy just sitting, usually outside or staring through a window, and just letting my mind wonder and just be content within itself.  I’m content in places were I have to meet up with someone and I’m early.  I don’t take books or phones (puzzles, games) to entertain myself.  I also meditate and get into a trance quickly.

What is your greatest strength?  My intuition and my ability to turn bad things into good.  I know they seem like two different things, but I think they are related, at least for me.  I think I tend to concentrate on the silver lining in situations rather than the inky darkness.

What did you appreciate or what made you smile this past week?  Feel free to use a quote, a photo, a story, or even a combination.

This past week has been a good one again.  Nothing super wonderful, but then the entire week was wonderful.  I got some wonderful yard photos this past week.  Here is a photo of some leaves on my Japanese Maple tree.

  1. I’m hoping someday I get to this level of comfortable with doing nothing. I’m okay in my own company but do usually look for something to occupy my time, especially when waiting for someone in public.

  2. I used to keep money all the time. I felt naked without it — and then I kept it in order. It was a lot easier to find a 1 rather than a 10! But now, I don’t buy “little” things much. I don’t buy coffee — I make my own. i don’t buy donuts because I don’t eat them. Gasoline is too much money (and too unpredictable, price-wise) to buy for cash … and even MacDonald’s takes bank cards. So typically, I have no cash.

Garry has cash. He buys newspapers and will often stop in a store to buy a bottle of soda or maybe a dozen eggs … and cash for little things is faster. Otherwise, if it’s more than a $5 purchase? Pointless. I kind of MISS having real money.

  3. Hi, Cee! Just want to let you know that I sure appreciate that you host these challenges. They are so fun, and keep me busy. Thanks so much! … Now, I just looked at your photos (awesome), and the leaves are so pretty. We don’t have a tree like that, but just this morning I found a leaf just like these. It was in the outside cat’s food dish. Now, I just saw your photo of the same leaves…coincident? Where did that leaf come from. No one around here has a tree like that. Maybe it flew over here from your post! 🙂

  4. I rarely carry cash but when I do, it is organized the same as yours. My biggest pet peeve is to be handed change with the bills turned every which way–even backwards! Ugh. The audacity….. !
