Share Your World – May 7, 2018

Disney quote

If you were given $22 million tax free dollars (any currency), what is the first thing you would do? (This is just a dream question, remember anything can happen in SYW.)

In what do you find the simplest of joys?

What would be your ideal birthday present, and why?

What did you appreciate or what made you smile this past week?  Feel free to use a quote, a photo, a story, or even a combination.

Even though I oftentimes will add photos to my answers, it is not a requirement to participate in Share your World.

I will post four different questions each week for you to answer.  There are two ways which you can participate.

  1. Create a SYW  post.  Then post the link to your blog in my comment box or leave your answers in the comments box of my blog.
  2. To make it easy for others to check out your photos, title your blog post “Share Your World” or “SYW” tag.
  3. Remember to Follow My Blog to get your weekly reminders.

I usually will respond to your entry on your blog, rather than on my page.

HERE ARE MY ANSWERS

If you were given $22 million tax free dollars (any currency), what is the first thing you would do? (This is just a dream question, remember anything can happen in SYW.)

Honestly, scream with excitement.  Tell Chris to quit her day job.  I’d give some money to each of my family members.  And then just sit and dream for a little while.  We’d probably pay off our house and get some work done on it.  Then I would hire a good landscaper/designer to keep the yard up the way we want it.  We both adore Canby so I bet we’d stay here for the most part.  We’d get a new vehicle and probably a trailer to haul.  I might consider buying a small house in Alaska somewhere along the coast for summertime living, where it is cooler.  Other than that, I really don’t know.  I probably would get the newest Sony A7 camera and update all my lenses.

In what do you find the simplest of joys?  I find the simplest of joys in the little conversations I have with bloggers.  I’m real lucky to have so many people following me, over the years I have fond memories of little snippets of time where our communication on the blogs bring me endless joy.  Every time I click the shutter button on my camera I get a little smile.  Our cats always brings me joy.  It’s the little moments in life where a smile appears on my face for a few seconds.  Those are the times I remember the most and replay in my mind.

What would be your ideal birthday present, and why?  I picked this question because it’s my brother in law’s birthday today.  And I’m thinking of him.  I talked to him a little bit this weekend and I definitely had some simple joyful memories from talking to him.  He and my sister have been married for 37 years and are still totally in love with each other.  Okay back to the question, I really don’t have an answer to this.  Chris and I don’t celebrate birthdays or holidays.  We simply celebrate each day as it comes. So my answer is just to find something to smile about and keep on gathering those little moments.

What did you appreciate or what made you smile this past week?  Feel free to use a quote, a photo, a story, or even a combination.  My first iris that bloomed this year.  Talking to my sister and her hubby for their birthdays were also highlights this week.

  1. A friends aged mother said she didn’t want presents. She wants experiences for her birthday. This year is going to the pub for a chicken schnitzel on Schnitty Friday. A bit of an Aussie thing 😀

  2. I love the idea of celebrating each day as it comes, without the pressure to buy gifts because it’s “the season”. Giving without a reason is so much better. And I love the comment that said a friend’s mother wanted experiences for her birthday – yes, yes! And dinner at a pub with loved ones would be a perfect experience!

  3. Love the joy you say your camera brings. I am hoping to find that joy as well once I get the rest of life a little settled and I can relax with the camera instead of the camera being something I think I must do?
