You managed to capture a *striped* fly! Everything is crystal clear: his body, his wonderful eyes, the feathery hair on his legs to capture pollen, and his fabulous wings. Well done, Cee!

Ah, the advantages of seeing flies under a microscope! However I confused the function of hairs on a fly’s legs with the hair on a bee’s legs. The hair on bees’ legs do indeed help gather pollen. I had to look up the function of hair on flies’ legs. For flies, the hairs help the fly know what position his legs are in, and the hairs also can feel things that the fly brushes up against. In addition, the hairs give the fly more body surface area, so the hair helps to dissipate heat. None of which I knew before. 😉
