Did you know that the junction of the leaves to the stem can hold water. If there are dead insects in the water the Teasel will increase seedset. Which makes the plant partially carnivory.

You always come up with some cool facts. 😀 😀

I was wondering what part of the world the Teasel originated from and discovered the carnivory fact. I hadn’t come across the word carnivory before.

Interesting…I have never seen a teasel. It looks a little like a thistle, at least I think both are prickly!

This is much more prickly and harder than a thistle … and about 3 times the size 😀

Interesting shape and texture…are these those little devils that sometimes come home stuck to me when I walk through fields?

You are probably thinking more of a thistle. They can be nasty too! 😀

Teasel was popular several years ago for wreaths. Tricky to work with.
