Update On Miss Digi – She’s Home

Miss Digi is home and doing well.

Thanks so much for your prayers and well wishes.

The hospital called in a specialized surgeon and after her initial exam of Digi, the Doctor said that if she just did the corrective surgery on her throat right away she may not need the trach.

So she had emergency surgery at 10pm last night and it went well.  They were able to take her off oxygen and she was breathing fairly comfortably on her own.

We were able to release her from the hospital at noon today.  She’s pretty drugged, up but doing well.  So hopefully, now the biggest thing is to keep her calmed down enough to rest and heal.  She does have good strong drugs to keep her calm for a couple of weeks.

We kept Maddie on lead and reintroduced them to each other.  As you l can see Maddie loves having her sister back…Digi is still a little too drugged.

  1. Great news Cee. I hope this will be the end of her problems. The tricky bit now will come when she starts wanting to play again. Dogs think that if they feel OK they must be OK. They don’t understand it is the drugs making them feel good so they try to do too much. Of course, some people do that too.
