Speedwell, maybe? It’s a perennial, which is the only thing I plant.

After looking at all the other suggestions I have to agree with Lois. I think it’s a Speedwell.

It’s a bulb too. I’m surprised I never heard of it before. Thanks Lois 😀

Mountain Lupine? Or, maybe a Dwarf Lupine since it’s so small. (I think Mountain Lupine are typically more like 6″-10″–we have a lot of Mountain Lupine around here.)

I know it opens like a lupine, but I think it is way to small for that. Thanks for commenting ;D

Pretty? But I think that is a knickname. Good luck finding its real name. Some version of lupine makes sense.

Hi Patti, it is pretty. It is actually a speedwell and it is a bulb. I just had never heard of them. Lois who was my first responder nailed it. Thanks for commenting 😀

It’s a blazing star. I don’t know the technical name for it, but I had one in my garden which then multiplied into several plants.

Blazing stars I’ve seen (after googling it). This is smaller and thinner than they are. Lois (first responder) was right it is a speedwell. Thanks though. You got a lot closer than I did at guessing.

If the leaves are thin and spiky on a long stem, it’s a blazing star. Google it for images to see if they match.

Hi, Cee, the closest I could find was a foxtail lily; beautiful shot regardless of the name 😃

The foxtail lilies are gorgeous. I just looked them up. But way to long. They are speedwell. 😀

I cheated and read the other comments first, so I know what you all say it is,. I was going to say something entirely different, which I shall keep to myself! It is lovely!

My guess was some kind of lupine and one person thought it could be one to. I was glad my guess wasn’t that crazy. My other guess was some kind salvia. 😀
