This week’s CFFC topic is Anything to do with trains and railroads. There are so many things that you can photograph regarding trains, railroads, train depots, etc. Big trains, vintage trains, toy trains, miniature railroads all count. It will be fun to see what you all come up with to delight me. Be creative and mostly have a lot of fun.
This challenge both new and archived photos are allowed. The main purpose of this challenge is to create community and get to know each other through photography.

My entry for this week
This first photo is of men working on the railroad tracks in Canby, Oregon. There are two sets of tracks. The workers on the green flatbed is on one set of tracks and the yellow loader on the other set. I’m not sure what they were doing, but in the lower middle you can see a huge round metal disk-like thing they were lowering. If you notice the yellow loader has two sets of tires. The rubber tires are wider than rail tracks and the metal wheels fit onto the rail tracks themselves.
Aurora, Oregon.
Garibaldi, Oregon.
Canby, Oregon.
A mural of Canby’s Depot when it was used. That Depot is now a small train museum.
I’ve put together a list of challenges and their hosts. So if you know a challenge host, please direct them to my blog. Feel free to contact me anytime. I hope everyone will be able to use my lists.
- Qi (energy) hugs,
Cee

That third photo is definitely my fave. I invite everyone to visit my link, as I’ve got a BONUS classic song sung by Gordon Lightfoot about building Canada’s railroad: https://gwhphotos.wordpress.com/2020/07/28/cffc-anything-to-do-with-trains-and-railroads/

Great subject. Thank you for coming up with this. I was so taken with railcar graffiti that I’m on a quest to find more to photograph and also to do some research on the history of this travelling art show. https://lifeinmyyears.com/2020/07/28/cees-fun-foto-challenge-anything-to-do-with-trains-and-railroads/

Thank you so much for the feature Cee – much appreciated. We have just come back from a train trip so I won’t have to dig far to find some railway pictures. Love the variety of trains you have this week but particularly the one with the red doors and stairs. Someone had a bit of fun with that.

That one with the red and stairs is an old steam engine that still runs for tourists on the beach. 😀

I’ve never heard of a train on the beach. That would be fun.

I’m a bit late, but I couldn’t resist this theme, Cee.
And I love the old train and mural of Canby – must be fascinating to visit the museum.
I actually found an old, but new to me, train line last week. So we have some glimpses of it here: https://travelwithintent.com/2020/08/01/bristol-harbour-railway/
