July 30 – SquarePerspectives – Different Looks of Astoria Megler Bridge

Here is my entry for Becky’s for July Square Perspectives challenge.  This is my favorite bridge to take photos of.

I’ve put together a list of challenges and their hosts.  So if you know a challenge host, please direct them to my blog.  Feel free to contact me anytime.  I hope everyone will be able to use my lists.

  1. what an extraordinary bridge, and the way you have photographed it is just brilliant. Have you ever been across it on the one day they allow pedestrians? Would be an amazing bridge to cross on foot

    1. It’s over 4 miles long. I wouldn’t want to walk it. The steep part is way too narrow for the big trucks, and a walking lane. One a brighter note I have walked the Golden Gate Bridge (when I was in my late teens). All I remember it was a gorgeous sunny day which doesn’t happen in San Francisco…it’s usually gray and foggy.

    1. When I’m hunting for photos, Chris drives and I have camera ready in the passenger seat. It’s a typical rule in Oregon. I do give her a break every now and again and do some driving 😀

  2. In the last year or so, I’ve started to pay more attention to bridges and their functional need at that specific location (besides the obvious, anyway >grin<). This one's a beauty.
