July 30 – SquarePerspectives – Different Looks of Astoria Megler Bridge

Here is my entry for Becky’s for July Square Perspectives challenge.  This is my favorite bridge to take photos of.

I’ve put together a list of challenges and their hosts.  So if you know a challenge host, please direct them to my blog.  Feel free to contact me anytime.  I hope everyone will be able to use my lists.

  1. In the last year or so, I’ve started to pay more attention to bridges and their functional need at that specific location (besides the obvious, anyway >grin<). This one's a beauty.

  2. Awesome! I took some cool bridge photos on our roadtrips last year. But you have to be ready with the camera when you get there! Love your photos!

  3. what an extraordinary bridge, and the way you have photographed it is just brilliant. Have you ever been across it on the one day they allow pedestrians? Would be an amazing bridge to cross on foot

    • It’s over 4 miles long. I wouldn’t want to walk it. The steep part is way too narrow for the big trucks, and a walking lane. One a brighter note I have walked the Golden Gate Bridge (when I was in my late teens). All I remember it was a gorgeous sunny day which doesn’t happen in San Francisco…it’s usually gray and foggy.

  4. For me, that is the scariest bridge I have ever been on. 🙂 I have to have someone else drive so i can close my eyes. Beautiful to look at though.
