We have joined the 21st Century – Refrigeration!

We got out refrigerator installed and hooked up late yesterday afternoon.  Many of you have been with me through our month long ordeal without a refrigerator.  Here are a couple of photos of our newly installed fridge.

Chris took this on her iPhone after the installers left.

Chris took this photo last night after the installers left.  We let is run overnight to get cold.

This I took this morning after we installed all the drawers and bins. Now we are needing to go grocery shopping.

I’ve gathered a list of challenges and their hosts.  So if you know a challenge host, please direct them to my blog.  Feel free to contact me anytime.  I hope everyone will be able to use my lists.

    • We bought a small one basically for my insulin pens and got a decent sized one thinking we’d have some room. My insulin took up 70% of the small one. So we had to juggle little stuff that would fit in it. We had tons of cooked meals delivered from restaurants.

  1. An entire month with no fridge? My husband would have a breakdown. He is the cook and during the pandemic he has suffered from food anxiety. . Your fridge looks very elegant in the shiny stainless steel!

    • We didn’t really care if it was stainless or not. But our stove is so we decided to stick with stainless in case we ever sell. Neither of us are fabulous cooks, unlike your husband, although we are looking forward to come cooked meals again.

    • Now the temps will probably go down and …… I think we are going on a good food diet for awhile, just because all we’ve done is eat protein bars or ordered food in. LOL

  2. Congratulations! Not only is that a beautiful fridge, but it is EXACTLY the one that I am lusting for. It’s a beauty and I’m sure it will give you much joy to use it.

    • We didn’t even see it first. We knew what we wanted. The salesperson from home depot (she was a sweetheart) kept looking at different models. We took chose this one because there was no ice in the door and it could be delivered faster. Some models wouldn’t be in until the end of September. We did want the double door and freezer on the bottom. I’m super glad we didn’t have to compromise that.

    • These guys were great. They had about and half inch extra space to get it out between the wall and island. I babysat the pugs, while Chris watched them. She said they have heavy straps and they picked it up and carried it out. They did have to remove the door handles since it was a throwaway.
