I have to say that as a long time birder and bird photographer there’s not really any such thing as a seagull. Many gulls live inland and have never seen salt water. Even gulls that live in coastal areas don’t fly far out to sea.

When I first moved to Colorado (from California) I was shocked to see so many seagulls there. 😀 😀

In the early and mid 1990s I was surveying an inland winter gull roost in England that held between 12,000 and 27,000 birds. I suspect a percentage of those birds had never been to the coast.
