Christmas Spirit is Alive

I would like to wish Sue, from WordsVisual blog, a very special and precious Christmas this year.  Sue is spending Christmas alone this year.  She is still full of Christmas Spirit, but because of Covid is will not be able to have people with her this year.  This post is my way of saying I join you in your Christmas Spirit and am right there with you from now through Christmas Day.

Ever wonder why is the Poinsettia plant connected with Christmas? The Christmas connection to poinsettias comes from a Mexican legend which tells of a poor girl who dreams of bringing a beautiful gift to favor the Virgin Mary for a Christmas Eve service, yet has nothing worthy.

On the way to Church, she meets an angel who tells her to pick some weeds. She kneels by the roadside and, despite her protests that they are far from desirable, gathers a handful of common weeds. and makes her way to a small chapel where she places her offering on the altar. The moment she does, they burst into blooms of brilliant red poinsettias and her sorrow turns to joy. The Mexicans renamed it Flor de Nochebuena (Christmas Eve Flower).

From our hearts here in Canby, Oregon to your hearts.

I know Sue is not the only one physically separated from family and friends.

The world is a different place for all of us this year.  No matter what our beliefs and holiday traditions are, let us all support each other. May we all unite from around the world and keep our spirits joyful and full of love.

Please feel free to add a comment and tell me your name (or blog name).  I would love to hear from you.

Qi (energy) hugs

  3. What a lovely thing to do, Cee. Sue sounds like she needs a bit of a lift right now. This has gone on for too long! I have a poinsettia on my table every Christmas. Thanks for sharing the story 🙂 🙂

  4. As I was reading your message I had to look up as my window seemed to grow brighter. Indeed the clouds had parted and the sun is now shining on our little forest. I take it as a sign of hope. Thank you for your uplifting words. May the future be bright for you and all of us!
