January 2 – SquareUp – Upbeat Drumming

Here is my entry for Becky’s for January SquareUp challenge.

A little known fact about both Chris and I is that we are drummers. I wish I could say that drumming has grounded us this past year, but I can’t. Maybe this year it will help us.

Here is a photo of one of our drums. A metal artist (Ben Dye) made it out of a propane tank. We were at his studio and saw this little girl playing it. We loved the sound of it and bought it.

I thought for the rest of the month, I would feature some upbeat drumming music at the end my posts for SquareUp.

I’ve put together a list of challenges and their hosts.  So if you know a challenge host, please direct them to my blog.  Feel free to contact me anytime.  I hope everyone will be able to use my lists.

  1. Wow! That’s a big drum-roll surprise! 🙂 Most excellent. A second cousin of mine is one of the best drummers in Slovenia. He is also very active in getting instruments for primary schools so that kids can learn to play them. Have a look at how his band covered Losing My Religion:

  2. I didn’t know you and Chris were drummers! I am so excited to know this now. When I taught elementary general music, we did a lot of drum work. I am five feet away from my djembe right now. The more I know about you, the more I like you.

    • My first drum was a djembe. It’s small, so I don’t play it that often anymore. I’m probably 5 to 6 feet away from it 😀 It’s protecting my lenses and my teddy bear. 😀
