Here is my entry for Tina of Lens-Artists Photo A Week Challenge with the topic of Special Moments. This is also my entry for Sunday Stills Challenge with the #Black and White.
This first photo is of a hummingbird I captured at Swan Island Dahlias. A white van was parked sideways letting of passengers, and the hummingbird was feeding off these flowers. The van gave a perfect background. I’m not around hummingbirds that often, so I was excited to get this photo.
This American Bald Eagle I was able to capture at Northwest Trek in Tacoma, Washington. It seemed like I had a wonderful moment with this beautiful creature.
Chris and I were lucky enough to go on a private tour at an elk farm in Molalla, Oregon.
I go to the dahlia farm here in Canby, Oregon often, but after a year of isolation and fires during the dahlia season, it makes all the time over the years I spent at these fields seem all that more precious.
It was a foggy magical day, when Chris I went to Cathedral Park in Portland, Oregon. The bridge abutment is part of St. John’s Bridge.
Chris and I have had many magical moments at the beach, especially at D River beach in Lincoln City, Oregon. Seeing hundreds of seagulls feeding on the beach and then all of a sudden, they all take off at the time time is a spectacular sight.
I’ve put together a list of challenges and their hosts. So if you know a challenge host, please direct them to my blog. Feel free to contact me anytime. I hope everyone will be able to use my lists.
Qi (energy) hugs

What gorgeous photos, Cee. The St. John’s bridge from that angle engulfed in fog – spectacular. Mr. Elk looks like he needs some help scrubbing his antlers. Little bit of a slob! 🙂

As usual, Cee, your photography is second to none. Cool how the hummer was just in the right spot! The eagle is amazing, but the dahlia in b&w is beyond beautiful!

These are all beautiful Cee. Capturing flowers in b&w is an art you have truly mastered, and the eagle is absolutely stunning.

I too find moments like these to be very special Cee. Loved your hummingbird – how nice of the van to be your background!. Also loved your eagle image. Good heavens, how close WERE you for that one?! Your B&W is a lovely choice for the week.

The eagles had an open feeding area and they were being fed at the time. So he was quite happy to pose after eating. I was fairly close, but did have my 300mm lens on 😀

The hummingbird photo is beautiful, Cee. Last summer, I sat by my front window for about 2 weeks trying to photograph the hummingbird that visited my garden several times a day. Finally got a few shots, but not as good as yours.
