Margaret, From Pyreness to Pennines blog, mentioned yesterday that when she lived in France she had seen brown toned irises. I told her I had a few photos of brown iris. I’m so fortunate to live near Schreiner’s Iris Gardens. Click here to see some of the history of the gardens.
I’ve gathered a list of challenges and their hosts. So if you know a challenge host, please direct them to my blog. Feel free to contact me anytime. I hope everyone will be able to use my lists.

Cee, thanks so much for these. They bring back such happy memories, as well as being so beautiful in their own right. I’ve never seen these in England. Anyone else??

Actually I have seen them at two different gardens. But I’ve not seen them in home gardens. I’m glad you like these browns 😀

Thank you. I’m encouraged by how well my photos from my own garden turned out. This garden seems to attract artsy people. It’s not unusual to see people with their paints and easels and camera tripods.

Cameras are very common. I’ve seen painters at my gardens too. It’s fun to capture photographer and artists with the gardens in the background. 😀

You can get such striking colour combinations in them! We had a country estate not far from us that had some beauties, including the browns, in the UK. (Wynyard Estate, Margaret 🙂 ) Amazing how people get a bee in their bonnet about a particular plant.
