This post is in response to Debbie’s at Travel With Intent blog Six Word Saturday Challenge.

I’ve gathered a list of challenges and their hosts. So if you know a challenge host, please direct them to my blog. Feel free to contact me anytime. I hope everyone will be able to use my lists.

I used to test dirt for a living. I always thought it was fun to do. 😀 😀

Don’t think of it as dirt, Jo, but as a living thing, without which we would neither eat nor enjoy flowers! It’s just … soil 😉

Can’t argue with that, although what passes for dirt here isn’t anything like what I’m used to. More like cement. 😦

It’s also called hardpan and trust me, it’s hard alright!
“‘Caliche'” is a shallow layer of soil or sediment in which the particles have been cemented together by the precipitation of mineral matter in their interstitial spaces. The cement is usually calcium carbonate; however, cements of magnesium carbonate, gypsum, silica, iron oxide, and a combination of these materials are known.”
