  23. That’s a beauty, Cee, but I am confused. When hydrangeas are pink, it means the soil is alkaline. When they turn blue, it’s because the soil is acidic. So how to explain purple?! Can soil be both acidic and alkaline? Our hydrangeas are in “neutral” soil, I guess – they are white!

    • You are right about the pH and acidic soils. Purple is in neutral (balance) soil a combination of blue and pink. So white is a different type of hydrangea. I know there are a couple variety of whites, off whites and their sizes vary a lot too. 😀
