This is my entry for Becky’s for July #TreeSquare challenge.
I took these photo at Mission State Park near Salem, Oregon. The park has a couple of old walnuts and hazelnut orchards. Here are a couple of photos of the trees and nuts.

Think I might be nutty myself by day 31!! What fabulous trees Cee, and love how we both had a walnut tree on day 21. Your walnut tree a bit more recognisable than my seedling though!

The trees have to start somewhere. I’m saving my favorite tree in Oregon for the last day. 😀 😀

Oh yeah. It’s a tree with a canopy of close to 100′ feet wide. I’ve dreamt about building a house underneath it with the tree growing out of the middle of it.

Those are some old nutty trees! We used to live in a walnut grove when we first moved to CA. I liked to glean walnuts off the ground. One day I walked a ways from the house without a bag. No problem. I used my blouse to hold them till I got back. Unfortunately, I was new to picking walnuts and didn’t realize they were the favorite food of red ants. Those nuts stung. 🙂

Yes, indeed ouch. I didn’t do that again. Roasting them in the oven at 200 for several hours solves the problem, though.
